Kumasi Hive holds its Local Consultative Stakeholders Meeting on Digital Media.
Just as last year when Kumasi Hive held its Local Consultative Stakeholders meeting on Web Development. This year was no different and was full of excitement. Kumasi Hive had all stakeholders within the Digital Media space come on board to share their ideas on an inclusive system to help businesses within the ecosystem thrive.
The Local Stakeholders Consultative meeting commenced right after the Ecosystem mapping; an activity to map organizations across the region and find out how their outfits assist and support startup growth.
The event which was held on the 23rd of April 2021 at Kumasi Hive had a massive attendance from people from the 6 pillars identified as Accessible Market, Media, Women and Culture, Finance, Support, Government Policy and Regulations, and Human Capital.
The theme for the event was “The Role of Digital Media in Transforming the Local Economy for Job Creation and Economic Development”.
The Keynote speaker Mr. Kofi Owusu, the Project Lead for PM 24, stated emphatically that Digital Media has come to stay and that the youth should embrace it and make good use of it. He emphasized that he is excited that Kumasi Hive is doing something like this to equip young people in Digital Media. He entreated the Government to support initiatives like this so we can have a lot of youth have a skill they can start businesses with.
There was a panel discussion and focus groups to identify the various challenges around Digital media and how the market looks like, the many opportunities available, and who are the right people to ensure that Digital Media thrive.
At the end of the event, there was networking over lunch.
