Kumasi Hive Launches its Virtual Online Learning Platform — The Hive Academy.
The world which is gradually moving from a “distant community” to a globalized and digital community is the reasons Kumasi Hive, a non for profit organization that trains the Ghanaian youth in technical, entrepreneurial, and digital skills launched their online learning platform; the Hive Academy in the early hours of Friday 29th January 2021.
With time, people are no more interested in in-person training or classes due to their schedules and the nature of their work. They would want to kill two birds with one stone irrespective of their location, and the Hive Academy seeks to do that.
The Hive Academy is essentially an extension of the training programs offered at Kumasi Hive. People from all walks of life would now be able to benefit from the training online from the comfort of their homes in a self-paced way.
The Launch was centered on the theme; “Why Ghana Should Embrace Local Online Learning Platforms using the Hive Academy as an Example and saw a panel discussion on the said theme” via Zoom. The panelist included Mrs. Adelaide Asante, the Board Chair of Kumasi Hive, Chirag Shamdasani of Mastercard Foundation, and Miss Benedicta Naa Odarkor Ablateye, Community Associate of Kumasi Hive iterated some downsides of our education system and emphasized how embracing online learning would be of great benefit to students, academic institutions and the economic development of the country as a whole. There were also demonstrations on how to use the web version of the online learning platform.
