Stakeholders in a group picture

The UPSHIFT Project is sponsored by UNICEF to promote social innovation and entrepreneurship among young people in Ghana. As part of UNICEF’s initiative to pilot the UPSHIFT program in Ghana, Kumasi Hive has been selected to recruit and work with 50 adolescents and young people (aged 14–24) to train them to be socially innovative and enterprising using the UPSHIFT framework.

In this regard, a stakeholders meeting was held on the 5th of July 2021 in the community that was chosen; which is Aboabo a community in the Asokore Mampong Municipality. The stakeholders included the Regional Imams, Religious leaders, Opinion leaders, youth and women groups, amongst others to find out ways we can work together as a team in the community.

Stakeholder sharing insight with the team

The theme for the Stakeholders meeting was Building skills and opportunities for young people through social innovation and entrepreneurship.

Stakeholders expressed their excitement on the intention of the team to chose a Zongo community irrespective of how people perceived them. They told the team they will rally behind the agenda and ensure that the right people are offered with the right skills set for the economic growth of the community.

At the end of the engagement, team members promised to offer nothing but the best to the community and asked that community leaders should be part of this success story.
